 Quality Assurance and accreditation

Urban Colours is a Government-certified national supplier of cultural heritage services through the Supply Nation (formerly AIMSC) initiative.  Our company has gone through a rigorous quality control and occupational health and safety assessment in order to achieve accreditation. We also sit on numerous Government Panels providing cultural heritage guidance to a number of Departments. Urban Colours is in a position to support and contribute to National Indigenous Opportunities Plans (IOP) to assist businesses to win more Government tenders.  More details can be found from the link below;

Urban Colours possess a well-stratified business structure and national standards for Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies. All Urban Colours field staff hold nation-wide (state issued) Construction Induction cards and the company is covered by Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance to meet all insurance requirements. We also possess an industry code for WORKCOVER (Workers Compensation).

All Urban Colours documents are reviewed by our accredited editor and principal archaeologist and no fieldwork is undertaken without either the Principal Archaeologist or Senior Project Manager(s) present on-site. This mitigates the potential risks inherent in having less experienced staff undertaking archaeological fieldwork but this policy is also fundamental to the professional development of our graduate and project archaeologists.

Urban Colours has a strict document quality control framework, particularly where Health and Safety and QA of our reports are concerned. We have a dedicated, accredited and professional editor on staff whose role has expanded to include oversight of Urban Colours' policies and systems documentation, as well as compliance with relevant quality standards and the legislative frameworks we operate under.
